Field journal / September inspection
The gap that launched an inquiry.
Six metres of exemplary privet. One small gap beside the gate. Keith called it a lapse. Derek called it a sightline. The owner called it Tuesday and asked them to move his bin.
A second visit established that the hedge was in excellent shape and the gate needed room to open. The committee accepted this in principle, pending a photograph with the gate shut.
